Vietnam Storm Death Toll Rises To 99

In Vietnam, due to tropical storm many people were killed and on Thursday the death toll rises to 99. The authorities estimated that the damage due to storm was about $55 million. In Phu Yen the death toll reaches to 69, whereas 16 residents are still missing.

The people of Binh Dinh have started returning to their home even though the flood waters continue. While 14 people died in the neighboring province of Binh Dinh. In the neighboring region, it was estimated from the government website that about 16 people are dead and  one is still missing.

The deputy chairman of the provincial People’s committee, Nguyen Ba Loc. said that in three districts about 3, 00,000 people are still inundated and rescue plan is still going on to save the victims.

Due to this flood, many families lost their home and dear ones. Some of the areas are severely affected by this flood. About 24000 people are taking shelter at the government buildings.

Military helicopters are helping people by providing them the food materials. They are dropping instant noodles and water to the victims of the isolated areas. The soldiers are also helping the victims in their speed boats. They are providing every type of facility to the victims that are needed.

The storm has injured about 66 people and more than 16000 homes were damaged in the country. The national committee for storm and food control estimated that, about 30,000 hectares of rice and other crops get damaged due to the storm. These numbers can even rise higher.

The Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has said that the government will provide 225 billion dong and 10,000 tons of rice to help the victims. The government also said that he will provide all the necessary needs to the victims in order to better their life.

Nepal Maoists Picket Govt Offices

In Nepal, on Wednesday the Maoists setup their anti government stirs and protested against all the administrative offices in 75 districts. The Maoist protesters interfere and disrupted many works in the country.

The protest was against the president of Nepal, President Ram Baran Yadav. The president Ram Baran Yadav had announced a decision of reinstating the former army chief in the month of May. The Maoists were not agreeing with this decision of the president and so they oppose and protest against the administrative offices to decline this decision.

At Babarmahal, in front of the Kathmandu District Administration office more than hundred of Maoist cadres waving their red flags protested the decision of the president. The Maoist cadres also did not allow the staffs of the administration office to enter into it. In spite of the presence of security personnel, the security head could not help the staffs of the administration office to enter into the office and do their work. All the staffs were standing outside the office helplessly.

The Maoists protesters also shouted many slogans like “Implement Peace Agreement”, “down with puppet government”, “Maintain Civilian supremacy”, “Remove unconstitutional government” and many more other slogans.

The Maoists protesters have also blockaded the parliament session that have been preventing its issues and sittings since the month of May. The Maoists also said that they will not allow the staffs to enter in to the administration office and the budget of this month to pass until their wish is fulfilled.

Due to this protest all the work in the district administration office stops which may affect various things in the country. The president has to agree with the Maoist protest or have to find a proper solution of this problem, otherwise it may affect the parliament of the country very much.
