The report came in the form of unbelievable news for most of the English people staying in the country. The statistics released by Justice Maria Eagle are about the errors made between the period of January 2005 and September 2009. It was within this period that Jason Bethell, a murder suspect was released by error from the Chelmsford prison in Essex just about last week.

Another prisoner included in the list of people released mistakenly is that of Terence Clegg, a thief who was released from the Durham prison last year in October 2008. Terence Clegg was mistaken as his 51 year old father who is captivated in the same prison. Another prisoner freed mistakenly is Raheem Ahmed, who was released from Birmingham two years back in August 2007. Raheem was released after serving for a week in a six-month sentence that was forced on him due to a violent affray.

However, these errors were simply blamed onto the short falling staff of the British jails which are usually overcrowded. The staffs in the jails don’t have enough time to check all the prisoners and ensure that no mistakes are made. Commenting onto the figures, Dominic Grieve, Tory the justice spokesman quoted in the Sun, “These releases can have devastating consequences. As prisons have become more overcrowded, staff overworked and transfers more frequent, the number of erroneous releases has shot up.” He further added saying, “This is as a direct consequence of Labour’s incompetent mismanagement of the justice system”. Now, it’s all upon the cops and the British security forces to protect the innocent people across the country from these dangerous and psycho minded criminals.
