All the arms which were found, used by Prabhakaran were buried 15 feet under the ground at Vellamulliwaikkal locality in Mulaittivu along with scores to suicide kits and several anti-aircrafts guns as well. Also on Tuesday the local media reports says that the senior DIG there for Vavuniya Nimal Lewke confirmed that the weapon M-16A2 along with the grenade launcher which was found was all used by the LTTE leader as his personal weapon.

Prabhakaran was killed by Lankan army at Nanthikadal lagoon in Mullaitivu on 18^th may last year.  Also his gun that was found was buried along with his body armour with many things such as 125 suicide kits, 25 anti-aircraft, and 50 mortar bombs. Now this is something which sounds shocking isn’t it?

The Lankan security authorities are continuously searching the northern countryside for the weapon cache of the LTTE if they can get some.

There are specialized Army units, who have had much success in locating the Tamil Tiger’s weapons. And those retreating LTTE had buried most of their heavy weapons in the underground caches are now searched by Lankan security authorities.

This Arms and guns are now in the process of being transported to the senior DIG Vavuniya’s office. Also according to the Defence Ministry, these search operations were conducted with the Terrorist Investigation Division in Vellamulliwaikkal area of Mullaitivu. It is in a statement that a staggering 2000kgs of explosives were also one amongst, which was recovered haul of war materials.
